Unum offers 4 voluntary benefits for ASD1 employees.
1. Life insurance - Unum offers both term life insurance and accidental death and dismemberment coverage to employees and his/her eligible dependents.
2. Short term disability - This benefit pays up to 60% of monthly income. Benefits are payable in addition to sick leave.
3. Accident coverage - This policy can provide benefits for covered accidents that occur on and off the job. Coverage provides a lump sum benefit based on the type of injury (or covered accident) you sustain or the type of treatment you need.
4. Group Critical Illness policy (with optional cancer rider) - This policy pays a lump sum benefit at the diagnosis of a covered illness - from $5,000 to $50,000 - and you can use the money any way you see fit.

New hires can enroll within 31 days of hire date. Late entrants will be offered this coverage during the fall annual enrollment and will require medical approval for certain benefits.
